Google is determined to pay more attention to user privacy with new tools that will cover its main digital services. After taking it to the search engine and voice assistant, the company has implemented on YouTube, the well-known video channel, the automatic erasing system for activity history and locations.
It is an interesting measure, especially for those who are suspicious of their privacy. It also shows the company's path to a more controllable environment. At the moment, it has reached the version for Android mobile devices, but it is also presented on iOS. It is a function that directly affects the YouTube recommendation algorithm, so if this option is put into practice it is possible that the suggestions most adapted to your tastes may not be received.
To delete the history automatically and avoid leaving traces of your activity on YouTube, just open the "Settings" tab and enter "History and privacy". Once there you have to go to «Manage all the activity». It is, then, when users must choose the period of time they wish to perform this action.
Thus, from «The activity will be kept until you delete it manually» it is necessary to click on «Change this setting». Three options will appear, but if we enter "18 months" or "3 months" it is possible to decide to delete the data automatically, which is the "Delete later" option.
