Originally debuted at the MWC in Barcelona in February and considered the main rival of the Samsung Galaxy Fold, also delayed, the Mate X will be sold for the equivalent of £ 1,860 / $ 2,400 USD (16,999 yuan). However, prices are likely to be different from the converted price, considering that the Fold is on sale for £ 1,800 / $ 1,980, but it seems that the Mate X will go for more than the Samsung device.
Huawei said that "a global launch is plan being reviewed."
The Fold and the Mate X reached a wave of exaggerations a little earlier than the industry expected. With both phones delayed due to manufacturing problems, maybe we were right to be surprised because the technology is clearly first generation.
The glass does not bend, so the plastic screens are there by necessity. The fold screen can receive permanent bleeding from a nail and looks like a device to be handled with extreme care. It's almost as if it were bought as a secondary device for someone's main smartphone, which is crazy considering that it costs two thousand dollars.
We hope that Mate X will do the same and be equally fragile. The design is different from Fold, and the screen is permanently outside instead of closing like a book, so it is exposed to the elements (and sharp things) at all times. You'll want a case, maybe even a belt bag like in the old days of BlackBerry (we're just kidding).
However, the 8-inch screen of the Mate X is something worth contemplating, so if you are one of the first to adopt the technology and do not have the Galaxy Fold, you may find it difficult to resist.
For the rest of you, keep your wallet, are you crazy?
