LG COULD BE THE PROVIDER OF SCREENS FOR THE IPHONE SE 2

A report suggests that LG Display is in the midst of quality controls on the screens that it intends to supply Apple for the iPhone SE 2. According to sources in The Elec (via Apple Insider), Apple's next economic phone is in process and "initial orders will be small in size".

The report also refers to the major restructuring under way of LG Display, which means that the company "cannot afford to choose" when it comes to the SE 2 agreement, although, according to reports, it shows no interest in supplying Apple for the project. It could be that LG's lack of interest in providing a cheap phone had to be reevaluated given Apple's continued dependence on LG's rival Samsung for OLED displays on high-end iPhones.

As Apple Insider points out, the South Korean publication The Elec has a good track record in the supply chain, but not when it comes to Apple's predictions. However, it continues to feed the rumors of an economical iPhone, but one that we don't believe will be qualified as SE.

Rumor has it that it looks like the internal parts of an iPhone 11 with the body of an iPhone 8, it would have to substantially lower the price of the iPhone 11 to gain market share. The iPhone 11 is only the second iPhone released at a cheaper price than its predecessor, in this case, the iPhone XR.

We believe that we will see an economic iPhone in 2020, as Apple seeks to make its way into markets like India and revitalize its presence in Western markets where people keep their smartphones for longer. While the striking iPhone 11 will have prompted people with iPhone 6 or 7 models to upgrade, it could actually be a cheaper model with excellent specifications that will encourage people to pay for a new iPhone.
