The most recent adversaries of Facebook: almost all of the United States.
New York attorney general Letitia James said Tuesday that an antitrust investigation of the social network initiated by her state now has the support of 47 attorney generals of both parties.
New York and a few states began the investigation last week.
The demand focuses on whether Facebook, being so dominant, stifles competition, limits the power of choice of consumers and costs more money to advertisers.
The group also has concerns about how Facebook handles customer data, James said. This is the subject of investigation since certain firms were able to obtain information to try to influence the 2016 presidential election.
The Associated Press sent a request for statements to Facebook representatives.
The social network and other giant companies in the technology sector are subject to investigation by federal regulators. The Federal Trade Commission of the United States recently fined Facebook $ 5,000 million for violation of privacy rules.
